Hearing aids in London — 2026 guide

Read it here, print it, or leave your email and we will send a copy. It is advice, not a brochure for one brand.

1. NHS or private?

NHS aids are free after referral and are good, basic instruments. Private is for shorter waits, more styles (including Phonak Sphere and Oticon Intent), rechargeable options, and aftercare at a clinic you choose. Many people keep NHS aids and only go private if restaurants or work are still a problem.

2. The two aids people search

Phonak Sphere — speech in noise. Oticon Intent — smaller RIC, more natural all-day sound. A mid-range chipset is often enough. We will say if the flagship is wasted on your audiogram.

3. What you should pay

Our published pairs start from £795 essential, about £3,195 for Sphere. We match or beat a like-for-like UK clinic quote by £50 a pair. Full rules in the terms.

4. The appointment

Ear look, audiogram, wax if needed, written quote, 60-day trial on selected aids, two years of scheduled reviews on new private fittings. Marylebone or a home visit in Slough, Maidenhead, Windsor or Reading.
