We aim to provide hearing care in a way that does not put patients at risk of abuse or neglect. This is a short public statement, not a substitute for local-authority procedures.
If we are concerned that an adult with care and support needs is at risk of harm, we may share limited information with the local authority or the police where the law allows, even if that person has not asked us to. We will try to involve them in that decision where it is safe.
This clinic is set up for adult hearing care. A child should be seen with a parent or guardian, or via paediatric audiology / ENT. If we are worried about a child’s safety we will follow local child-safeguarding procedures.
