What NIHL looks like
Noise-induced loss often shows a notch or slope around 3–6 kHz, with tinnitus. Age, wax, infection, ototoxic drugs and one-sided disease can look similar. That is why a claim needs a proper test, not an online screen.
We can test, document and, where instructed, write a clinical or expert report. We are not solicitors, we do not run claims, and we do not work no-win-no-fee. An audiogram is evidence. It is not a cheque.

Solicitors, occupiers, insurers, Veterans UK files, or you in person. Joint instructions are preferred. The clinician’s duty on a CPR Part 35 report is to the court, not to whoever pays the invoice.
Guarantee a payout, backdate history we did not take, or sign that “service/factory X caused this” unless the notes support it. The online hearing check is not for claims.
Clinical letter — audiogram, otoscopy, history you gave, plain-English summary. Suitable to attach to a GP, Veterans UK, War Pension or AFCS file. Not a full expert report.
Medico-legal / expert report — by prior written instruction only. Includes exposure history as reported, examination, audiometry, comment on consistency with NIHL versus other causes, and (if asked) comment on disability. Fees are quoted before work starts and are payable whether the claim succeeds or not.
The named expert, HCPC number and indemnity go on the report. If the same clinician has already fitted you with aids, that relationship is declared — you may need a different expert for a fully independent opinion.
Industrial / occupational deafness — personal injury solicitor, limitation periods apply. Military — AFCS, War Pension, or a civil claim with its own deadlines (ask a solicitor or the Royal British Legion; we do not advise on time limits). We do not take a cut of damages.
Any old audiograms, occupational noise records, MOD medical notes you already hold, current aids, and a solicitor’s letter of instruction if you have one. Do not send original service records in the post unless asked.
